Ballina Primary Care Centre

The Ballina Primary Care Centre with a combined floor area of 20,000 sq ft was completed in Spring 2011. The centre is one of the first of 200 Primary Care Centres being developed throughout Ireland by the HSE.

As Primary Care Centre specialists, working in both Ireland and the UK, Alpha is currently working on more Primary Care Centres than any other company in Ireland.  They have a dedicated team of highly qualified staff who work exclusively in the area of Primary Healthcare Management with specific expertise in running the various stages of the development programme smoothly.

The development of this Centre is part of an overall Philosophy by the HSE of developing Primary Care Teams which are the first point of contact for people with their local health services.  The emphasis is on developing purpose built Primary Care Centres, where a large cross section of HSE staff will be based.  In Ballina, approximately 14 primary care staff will be based in this Centre including Public Health Nurses, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Psychologist, Community Dietitian, administration, support staff and home help.

“Our aim is to provide a cutting edge facility with enhanced services which will benefit both our patients and the other GPs & their patients in the Ballina area. One of the key aspects to the project is the fact that Ballina Medical Centre will be operational throughout the construction work & continue to provide extensive GP service, of the usual high standard for our patients” Dr Sean Moffatt.
